Trailer Graphics & The Idea Of Minimalism

By Bob Oliver

Over the past couple of years, brands have seemingly gone with a "less-is-more" approach with their branding. Specifically, any kind of intricate design or aesthetic they might have been associated with have been downplayed in order to appear simpler. This is an idea that can be attributed to more minimalist efforts, which shows few signs of going away anytime soon. In fact, I'd like to think that this could be applied to the creation of trailer graphics as well.

If you want to know what minimalism is all about, it's the simple direction of attention to a certain message. It's easy to see how an endeavor like this could be a challenge, especially when you think about the ways in which many designs are crafted. Minimalism is able to help clarify a message, which is fortunate for those who are driven to create trailer graphics. For those who'd like to bring such wraps to the forefront, companies such as JMR Graphics should be noted.

Logos, believe it or not, can benefit tremendously from the usage of trailer wraps designed like this. Minimalism, as it stands, cannot make use out of as many visuals as other types of designs. This is tremendous and the reason I say this is because of the idea that logos are able to be better emphasized; this is especially useful for logos which have gone about redesigns in recent times. Those who are familiar with branding will tell you all about the importance of logos and how these wraps can bring them to light.

If it is done poorly, though, it's easy to see how minimalism can take away from the message you'd like to convey. Designers may look at this concept and believe that there aren't many tools which can be used for the purpose of greater marketing efforts. However, this is where one's creativity is going to be put to the test, since you have to be able to work with what you have alone. Fortunately, minimalism is able to come into play here, as it is a concept various designers can tell you about.

More and more methods of advertising have taken this minimalist approach and for good reasons. The world has changed to a more streamlined way of business, which has been furthered by the usage of smartphones and other mobile devices. As far as minimalism is concerned, though, you can be certain that it can be incorporated into the creation of the best trailer wraps imaginable. It's a style that has its advantages, which will be felt in the long run.
