Using Your Car Dealer Carwash As A Courtesy Worthy Of Your Reputation

By Edward Snyder

With being a new car dealer, you attempt to provide quality service to everyone who enters your building. This is seen in the beautiful showroom you have. It is enhanced by having a nice space for people to sit during those interminable waits they almost always must get through. The snacks and refreshments you offer indicate that you have their best interests at heart. You should also take a further step and install a car dealer carwash on your lot.

Having a car wash in your lot will help in many ways that will improve your reputation as a dealer with a heart and a good community member. The first, obviously good, reason for this is to ensure you always have clean cars to show potential buyers. This, in and of itself, will pay for the unit quickly. Most people, when they buy a car need it to be as clean as possible as they enjoy the look and feel of this.

The trade ins that you get all of the time must be inspected to identify value. This can often be undermined by trying to see imperfections through a layer of dirt. This is especially true if you are checking the undercarriage. Running this car through a car wash will help see through this and, even if you do not take the trade in, they get a clean car back which will impress them as well.

Getting the car clean after normal servicing will also help your clients know you respect them. Taking their vehicle through a wash, after it has been worked on will remove the largest amount of debris that may have accumulated during the time it was being worked on. This will help everyone see a beautiful car and will help the owner know they can trust your service again.

This unit may also be pressed into service, during slow times as a car wash for the public. It is set up and just sits there if it is not being used. You can generate some monthly income this way and, especially if it is an automatic unit, it does not take a lot of manpower to run it.

Other car lots, maybe that used car lot down the street can be offered the car wash to be used occasionally. You could also offer the use of this service as an action item for a church raffle. All of this could help you be a better community member and one who deserves more business with this kind of advertising.

If the cleaning bay is large enough, you can use it to clean body parts that are removed from cars when undergoing body work. If it is larger, still, it could be offered as washing services for the local firetrucks. This could really cement your reputation as the dealer with a heart.

Keeping all of your cars and small trucks clean is a great idea. Making a few dollars each month is another one. Making this a promotional draw will bring more people to both types of activities.
