It has been common for people under special care to be robbed of their money by their caregivers. Some fraudsters have even presented themselves for payment having made fake documents for themselves to make them appear like caregivers. Ihss fingerprinting has come up in county governments in the US to help curb this trend. It ensures rigorous screening of caregivers before they are paid.

Caregivers are all required to fill registration forms to serve as a formal way of registering with the special services department. They are also supposed to go through a criminal background check to determine whether they are trustworthy or not. Afterwards, they are taken through an orientation on care provision. The services provided include housekeeping, laundry, and preparation of meals, shopping, bowel and bladder care, accompaniment to medical centers, protection and supervision in cases of mentally impaired individuals. This is an outreach program designed by the county government of California. It aims at taking good care of the needy in society.

The first step entails filling in and signing forms. They are then taken back to ihss offices in person. In cases where individuals are registered, government officers will offer assistance in the remaining steps of the process. The remaining steps entail checking and scanning the fingerprints. The one registering later goes through a rigorous assessment of involvement in criminal activities in the justice department. Many companies have registered themselves with county governments to provide these services. They have come up with varying fees for registration. Many of them charge around fifty dollars. It is, therefore, important for every service provider to register with the In-house Service department. This is for their own good and the welfare of their clients. The move by the county governments to have all in-house service providers registered was clever. It has drastically reduced the rate of fraud in this area. Needy people have also been reported to receive quality services from their servants.
