To see one of the most historical places in Soldotna visit the Historical Society Museum where the original last school still stands of the territories, complete with all that the students used and needed in those days. An original homesteaders log village is also on the agenda to give you a feeling of what their lives must have been like when they first found their way here.

Do not miss the opportunity to see the real Iditarod Trail and find all there is to know about the Alaskan Railroad too at the KMTA National Heritage area. The scenery which surrounds this area is truly a work of art. The people of the community can sit and tell tall tales some true and some not, all day long. Kids will love this one on one time.

The West Entrance Skilak Lake Road stretches 18 miles that forms a loop. Here is one of the best spots to see all types of wildlife which calls the Peninsula of Kenai their home. The many glaciers and lakes found will make excellent snap shots for vacation memories. For the fishermen, you can visit the Lake Overlook Upper Ohmer for some peace and serenity as well as catching the best rainbow trout.
